Advantage Media Management, Inc. - What lifting the campaign spending cap means for media vendors

Advantage Media management, Inc.’s view regarding the ruling by the supreme court to lift the campaign spending cap means that Broadcast TV, Local TV, Cable, Radio, etc…will see a tremendous new revenue stream with a lot of potential pittfalls. Now that corporate and private money alike will have a voice on TV to endorse virtually any political platform, the TV networks have some fine line’s to draw in the sand. That’s unfortunately exactly where they’ll be drawn in too, in the sand, able to cover and move that line with ease.
All the questions about morals, ethics and political fairness will come into play when the media vendors have to decide which political ads they will and will not run. My guess however is that if the money’s right, just about anybody with a check book can buy the airways. AMI believes that the vendors will ultimately be just fine in the battle over morality. Broadcast TV, Local TV, Cable and Radio are like Cockroaches, no matter how bad things are, they always find a way to survive (sorry for the unpleasent analogy).
The ones that have the most to lose however are the various advertisers. There will be so many political ads that, gone will be the days of maximum seperation, competitive collision and decent positions within the commercial pod. With so much money coming into these stations they will virtually forget about the idea of “taking care of the client”. The coming years will prove to be good years for media auditing and stewardship.
Without the oversite of an Advantage Media Management, Inc. auditing and making sure clients are taken care of there will be lots of politicians and corporations that won’t be getting what they pay for.
